Your employment rights

As an employee you have minimum employment rights. An employer cannot offer you any less than those minimum right, even if you are a migrant and you agree to it.

As an employee you have the right to:

  • Paid annual and public holidays
  • Other leave, such as sick or bereavement leave
  • Rest and meal breaks
  • At least the minimum wage
  • A written employment contract
  • A safe workplace
